These Fried Onion Rings feature tender, sweet onion slices dipped in a light, smooth batter and coated with crunchy panko breadcrumbs. Deep-fried until golden, they offer a satisfying crunch and delicious flavor that make them an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients
    2 units large onions, cut into rings (approx. 300 g total)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, for the batter (125 g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder, for the batter (4 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, for the batter (2.5 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, for the batter (1 g)
  • 1/2 cup milk, for the batter (120 ml)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, for the coating (100 g)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying (500 ml)
Instructions
  1. Slice the onions into rings and separate them gently.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and milk until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  4. Dredge the battered onion rings in the panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Fry the onion rings in small batches for 2–3 minutes until they turn golden and crispy.
  7. Remove the rings with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
