Italian Frittole are a classic Carnival dessert from Italy. These airy fritters are made from a rich, egg-based dough enhanced with granulated sugar, lemon zest, and plump raisins. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, melted butter, and lemon zest, and mix until a smooth, homogeneous dough forms.
