Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the eggs, melted butter, white wine, and vanilla extract; mix until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead until elastic, about 5โ€“7 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough very thinly (about 1/8 inch or 0.3 cm thick). Using a sharp knife or pastry cutter, cut the dough into long, narrow strips approximately 1 inch wide by 8 inches long.
  4. Twist each strip lightly to form a spiral shape, then place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Fry the dough spirals in small batches for 30โ€“45 seconds per side until crisp and golden.
